An exciting Day 2 stroke play followed a Day 1 cancellation of play and scores were low in the soft conditions. Norwegian Anders Kristiansen fired a 9 under par 64 and Matteo Manassero (Italy), 65. The teams competing in the 2008 European Boys Team Championship at the Bled Golf Club in Slovenia have now attained their starting flight positions for the scheduled next three days of match play.
With the best five scores of the six-player teams counting, Sweden and Italy tied for first place on 21 under par. The non-counting scores used in the tie break favoured Sweden, 73 to 74. The last places in flight one were keenly contested with England, Denmark and Spain all tying on -8. The decision of ties did not favour a disappointed Spain.
The third flight features a round robin format in which only one team, that finishing in 17th place, will qualify for entry in next year´s championship.
